I’m an only child. Sometimes that stinks, but I’m starting to wonder if it’s worse for my mother than it is for me. That poor woman is constantly having to talk to God about her worry over me.
I’ve never been the “average” gal. As a little girl, I didn’t dream about growing up and getting married and having kids. I was too busy making plans to save the world. I think she thought I would grow out of it, but I don’t think it’s going to happen. Yes, I’m currently accepting applications for a husband, but I’m still out to save the world. Sometimes thinking I have to fight off all the bad guys can get me into trouble and Mom dyes her hair to hide the gray I’ve caused.
So… when I told her I wanted to go to Thailand to share the Gospel with women who’ve been trafficked into the sex industry, love on orphans, and hang out with peeps in the drug rehab center, she called to make an appointment with her hair stylist before the gray started showing again.
Seriously though, you are among the first people I share this exciting, scary news with. I was invited to be a part of a groundbreaking mission trip to Thailand in December with World Missions Alliance. (Click here for more details.) I traveled to Moldovia with them a few years ago and what an amazing experience that was!
I’ll be traveling to Bangkok and Chiang Rai to reach the Hill Tribes of Northern Thailand, the most oppressed people group in the nation.
[ctt template=”5″ link=”eQ3E0″ via=”no” ]@sundijo has lost her ever-loving mind and decided to go to Thailand. Here’s why she needs your help. [/ctt]
Here are some recent statistics about the “Hilltribe” people and Thailand:
- The average “Hilltribe” person lives on less than $1.00 US a day. This is 12 times less than what an average Thai citizen lives on.
- Many Thai schools do not accept “Hilltribe” children and in cases where they do, the children are given little support with the costs of schooling and materials.
- 1 of every 3 sex workers in Chiang Rai (Thailand’s second biggest city) comes from a “Hilltribe” family
I’ll be specifically working with local churches, orphanages, and the drug rehabilitation center. You can get specific details here…
How do you play a vital role in this mission?
I get that everyone can’t just pack up their comfortable lives and head halfway across the world to love on broken people. But God has given me the opportunity and I want to take full advantage of it.
First and foremost, I ask for your prayers. We’ve already begun planning, getting passports, purchasing airplane tickets, etc. We need God’s guidance in every aspect of this trip. So your prayers are extremely important.
Secondly, I’m asking you to prayerfully consider helping financially. I truly believe the Lord is directing this mission and your tax-deductible donation will truly impact lives for generations to come. I can’t wait to share with you how your investment changed lives.
I need to raise approximately $3500 for the trip, which covers hotel, food, transportation, cost of interpreters, etc. I need to raise the first half by August 31, 2018. No pressure, right? I can’t wait to see what God does!
Where do I sign up?
You can donate here on the GoFundMe page. You’ll find more details on the trip there also.
Or you can mail your donation to World Missions Alliance (or W.M.A.) and put my name (Sundi Jo Graham) in the memo. You can send the funds to me or directly to World Missions Alliance to P.O. Box 1067, Branson West, MO 65737. You can also make a donation by credit card on the WMA website at rfwma.org.
Thanks in advance for both your prayers and your financial support. You will be a vital part of everything God will do in Thailand. I can’t wait to share with you the incredible account of this mission!
