This year I embarked on a journey with my new friend and blogger Alece from Grit and Glory. The journey was to find that one word that I wanted to focus on for 2011. That one word that I would live by.
My word was truth.
I’m sure I could have done better, but I’m pretty happy with the way I lived out that one word.
I spoke truth.
I lived truth.
I wrote truth.
I read truth.
I spoke truth that caused people to question their walk in faith. I lived out my faith for others to see my actions and not just my words. I wrote truth through this blog that touched the lives of many. I read the truth of God’s Word that not only comforted me in times of need, but rebuked me just the same.
I would love to say the results of one word were all positive, but it didn’t always turn out that way.
I heard truth regarding details of the death of my father that brought more heartbreak. I had friends and walk away because they weren’t happy with the truth I put in front of them.
Jesus said we would be persecuted because of him, and sometimes speaking the truth can be lonely, but I wouldn’t take it back.
I can’t wait to share my One Word 2012 with you and I encourage you to think about that one word that can change your life in the coming year.

Great word!
I like your idea of living by one word throughout the entire year. Got me to thinking about one word for me. Not sure what that might be. I have an idea and really it needs more deep thought before declaring that one word.
Thank you Sundi for prompting me to think about declaring and living by one single word.
Glad I could help. 🙂
Stay tuned for my one word for 2012..
