House Concert FAQ

I don’t have a big house. Can I still host a concert?

Yes! You don’t need a mansion! If you have a backyard or living room that can seat at least 20 people, you’re good! If not, a community room or building can also work.

How many people should I invite?

An average house concert has 20-40 attendees. Invite twice as many people as you want to come since not everyone will be able to make it.

I don’t know that many people. Can I still host?

Yes! Consider teaming up with a friend. You invite your friends, and they invite theirs. It’s a great way to meet new people!

How much does it cost to host a concert?

Hosting is typically free unless you choose to provide snacks or drinks. House concerts are usually donation-based, with a suggested donation of $20 per person. Because it’s donation-based, attendees can give less if they aren’t able to and can also give more should they want to.

How do I plan it?

House concerts are wonderfully low-stress events. Once we’ve chosen a date, we can decide on a start time together. You can then create a Facebook event, send an Evite, or email your network to spread the word.

If the concert is outdoors, suggest that guests bring a blanket or lawn chair. Encourage them to bring a dish, turning it into a potluck. Remember, it’s all about enjoying time with friends, so there’s no need to stress!

How does the evening work?

It’s helpful to give guests an hour to arrive, settle in, and socialize before the music starts. The concert typically lasts 45-60 minutes.

You don't live close to me, can you still perform in my town?

Of course! I would love to, and perhaps we can book some things in between here and there.

I'm Excited! What do I do now?

About Sundi Jo

Sundi Jo is an Americana/Roots Gospel Branson & Nashville recording artist and songwriter.

Imagine a voice that sounds like a blend of Lucinda Williams, Iris Dement, Anne Wilson, and Zach Williams, and you’ll find Sundi Jo. She brings a soulful style to her music that makes her unforgettable. Her voice and ability to write songs from the heart drive her passion to keep making music.

“I want to write and perform songs that people can really resonate with, really feel,” said Sundi Jo. “The world needs more vulnerability, and so does the church. I hope to provide that, along with some hope.”

Sundi Jo has a real, raw story of gritty redemption that her listeners can relate to. “ Her story will wound you, heal you, and help you see your story in light of a larger narrative.” – Jeff Goins, Bestselling Author & Speaker

Sundi Jo was eight years old when she heard Dolly Parton’s voice coming out of her dad’s radio atop the spicy rack in his tiny kitchen, singing “Silver and Gold.” It stopped her in her tracks, and music clutched her heart from that day forward.

“From that moment forward, I knew in my heart that I would grow up and somehow be involved with music.”
