Living Truth Weekly Recap

Didn’t catch Wednesday’s episode of Living Truth? No problem.
Lyn Smith and I talked L-O-V-E. If you have been following my blog this week, you know I have been talking about LOVE in action.
Lyn said, “The desire to love and be loved is universal.  God wired us that way.  There isn’t a person on the planet who doesn’t want and need it.  The confusion comes in what real love is.  What it looks like.  Where it comes from.  How to give and receive it.  We learn that from God Himself.  He IS love.  He is the Source of love.”
We discussed God’s love for Adam and how he blew that, yet God still continued to love him. We talked “love languages”. In case you’re wondering, my love language is quality time. To learn your “love language” take Gary Chapman’s assessment here.
We talked more about LOVE in action, and shared real-life examples of the love others show in our lives.
It was a fantastic show. Have I mentioned how blessed I feel to be a part of it?

Join us next week as we talk with Mark Elam, on a very touchy, yet important subject: sex trafficking.  It’s a must-hear show.
See you on the radio!

Living Truth Weekly Recap

Didn’t catch Wednesday’s episode of Living Truth? No problem.
Our guest was Shelley Hendrix. Shelley wears many hats, including speaker, author, and tv talk show host. She is also the founder of Church4Chicks, an amazing women’s ministry you have to check out.
I am so blessed we had the opportunity to have her on the show.
For years Shelley struggled with the belief that she was on God’s B-List, until one day God let her know He didn’t have a list. Struggling through hardships, Shelley answered to calling of God to be His voice. She gave up the shame and trying to perform for God and let Him just take control of her life. She let her greatest pains become her greatest healing.
Some highlights from the show:

  • Don’t live half truths. Go for the full truth.
  • Satan will try and rob you of your identity. He loses.
  • Your pain can be powerful – don’t fight God.
  • Believe that you can be honest with God.

Don’t miss these great spiritual nuggets and more from Shelley’s amazing interview. This woman is on fire for Jesus!  Check out the archive here.

Our guest was Barbara Maphet of  Free At Last Ministries in Oklahoma. Barbara shared an amazing testimony with us that is sure to bring tears to your eyes.
Given up for adoption as a child, living with a fear of abandonment, battling a drug addiction, and abortions, all before the age of 20, Barbara was walking through a lost world. Then forced into human trafficking with two older men, death was her only answer. But, that wasn’t God’s answer.
Barbara suffered through a life threatening disease and even prison before beginning her walk with Christ.

Here’s  brief recap of what we covered:
Jennifer White, Social Media Marketing Strategist with New Leaf Publishing Company, joined us as we discussed connecting with people and nurturing relationships through Social Media and other forms of communication.
Jennifer says of Social Media, “I want people to see Facebook and Twitter as a mission field.  Preachers have pulpits, counselors have an office and clients, Life Group leaders have a group of people. We all have a platform, a pulpit – our blogs, Facebook, Twitter,  to share the Truth – to Live the Truth outloud in front of people from every area of our lives. Shame on us if we don’t take advantage of it.”
Well spoken.
Jennifer also discussed how God changed her marriage through communication and the power of words; the power of His words, as well as dealing with her struggle with poor boundaries and co-dependency for 30 years.
