My life is turning upside down. It’s getting wrecked. The more I think about it, the more excited I get really.
When’s the last time you got wrecked?
I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to read Jeff Goins‘ first book, Wrecked: When a Broken World Slams into Your Comfortable Life. I’m only on chapter three and I find myself needing to slow down so I can absorb it all.

During my walk the other morning, I saw that most of the yards I passed were dying. There was no color left in the grass or flowers and the leaves on the trees were beginning to turn. Yet a few houses down, I saw a yard vibrant and alive, full of color and beauty. It is obvious why one yard is thriving and why the other one isn’t, right? We all know the answer to that. One has been nurtured, fed and watered, causing it to thrive while the other one has not, causing it to dry up and begin to die.

I get fidgety when I hear the word “stillness.” I immediately think of silence and my mind starts to freak out with all the thoughts that will consume me if it gets too quiet. I sleep with a fan for the love of Pete.
I used to think like that anyway, before I really got an understanding of what stillness is through Abby Lewis’ book Living Still. (Okay, I still think that way sometimes, but I’m getting better)

He’s right. This powerful statement doesn’t just pertain to writing though. It goes beyond putting the pen to the paper, or your fingers to the keyboard. It relates to our lives. Our hopes. Our dreams. Our goals.
We make a choice every day whether we will give up or keep going.
To be honest, there are days I give up on writing, then I pick myself back up and keep going. Why? Because whether or not the world hears my message, writing is in my blood. It’s something I was born to do.

Sometimes in the blogosphere we run into those jewels that provide amazing content, which keep us coming back for more. That’s what I found in Single Roots.
Since stumbling upon their website I look forward to my daily dose of awesomeness from the Single Roots gang.
I’m a single girl (currently accepting applications). Not only are many of their posts relevant to me, but the writers love Jesus. That’s the best part. I’m gaining great insight and building great relationships. Jessica, the genius behind the blog is quickly becoming one cool peep to chat with. Though she lives in Texas and I in Missouri, I have no doubt that someday in the future we’ll be sitting down to a nice cup of java and some Jesus talk.

Everyone’s talking about it. Both believers and non-believers have touched the subject of the end of the world. Depending on who you ask, global warming will destroy the world, or Jesus could be coming back.
If you’re a follower of Jesus, you know what the answer is.
