Don’t you just love the word of God and how the Lord leads you to specific Scripture at just the right time?

I was praying this morning for some specific friends in the healthcare field who are on the frontlines of COVID-19 and the Lord led me to Psalm 27. Last week I wrote a prayer for based on Psalm 91 you can read here…

In this Psalm, David was proclaiming the Lord as his protector against evil people coming against him. David knew, despite the dangers trying to destroy his life, God was still in control.

My friends, this is the promise we need to hold onto today. Despite what is happening around us in these moments. Despite the evil of the coronavirus coming against us. Despite the troubles coming against us, God is still sovereign, and if we have called up on His name and accepted Jesus Christ as our Savior, this same promise David held onto applies to us.

I’ve personalized this Psalm for you and me from Psalm 27:1-7

The Lord is my light and my salvation – so why should I be afraid? The Lord is my fortress protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble?

When the coronavirus comes to devour me, when (cough, fever, tiredness, breathing problems, and any other symptoms) come to devour me, when the enemy of fear comes to attack me, they will stumble and fall.

Though a mighty army surrounds me, my heart will not be afraid. Even if I am attacked, I will remain confident.

The one thing I ask of the Lord – the thing I seek most – is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, delighting in the Lord’s perfections and meditating in his Temple.

For he conceals me there when troubles come; he hides me in his sanctuary. He places me out of reach on a high rock.

I hold my head high above the enemies of the coronavirus who surround me. At his sanctuary I will offer sacrifices with shouts of joy, singing and praising the Lord with music.

The Lord hears me as I pray. He is merciful and answers me!

I pray this prayer from Scripture encourages you to keep fighting the battle, my friend! God is bigger. Hear that one more time. God. Is. Bigger.
